BC Classic and Custom Car Show, pt.1
April 27, 2011
All 4 Strauss Herbal Jet cars arrived from Edmonton today, and wow do they look great. We are all excited to be a part of the BC Classic and Custom Car Show this weekend. Heather’s Dragster has been rebuilt over the winter and it looks amazing, this weekend will be it’s first time out in public.
We will start loading the cars into the Abbotsford Tradex tomorrow afternoon, and spend Friday polishing and cleaning them up for display, but the real exciting part will be Friday Night and Saturday night.
Steve Cook flies in from Arizona tomorrow, him and I will fire up our jet cars and perform a spectacular fire show on Friday night and again on Saturday night. If you have never seen a jet car fire show you do not want to miss this, and if you have seen a jet car fire show you know what I am talking about and you will be there. You will be close enough to feel the heat off the afterburners and get a feel for 6,000 pounds of thrust, that’s the equivalent of 12,000 hp.
I will be at the show all weekend, so I encourage you to come by and say hello. I am looking forward to meeting with everyone in person. And you will be able to get up close and check out the details of our jet cars.
Everything you need to know about the show can be found here.
I will be posting updates on Twitter and Facebook throughout the weekend for everyone who is out of town, but I expect everyone within 100 miles to come by, I promise it will be worth it.
Racing Harnesses
April 23, 2011
As our racing season is getting underway in this area this weekend I thought I would take this opportunity to post a little thing on racing harness installations.
I see far too often that harnesses are not laced through the 3-bar correctly to lock the webbing in place.
This link here shows how to do it correctly.
It is very important to feed the webbing back over and through the 3 bar to lock the webbing in place otherwise it will slip when a load is placed on it. And you know a load is placed on it in an accident, exactly when you don’t want it to slip.
Have a look at the diagrams and check your harnesses.
